I will be having a male shih tzu dog. What are some things I need to buy?
I will be having a male shih tzu dog in just a month. What are some supplies I need to buy for my own dog?
Besides food...you will need a slicker brush, a steel tooth comb, and a de-matting tool...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not be one of those people who by designer pooches without realizing how much work goes into maintaing these animals...I work in a grooming salon and I can't tell you how many people don't maintain their dogs...shih tzu's need daily brushing..or they get matted...when they get matted it hurts them to have these matts removed...if they aren't removed they can cause skin irritations...also NEVER bathe this dog before you brush her thoroughly to remove all knots...you should be able to pass the comb through all his hair before you attempt to wash him..also do NOT blow dry this dog or his hair will matt...there are many other things to consider as well..like are you going to kennel train him? If so, you need a kennel...
